Distant Shores, Distant LoveDistant Shores, Distant Love

I bear the storm's embrace so well
I profess to know such shallow pain
In oceans deep and nights so dark.
Feeling the winds which strike my chest
Is old to me, as is the straining of my eyes
To meet the sky, its distant gaze.
Yet you might think, to hear this said
That I am cold and thus, instead:
A heartless man, a wretched soul?
Not so, it is my duty still to say:
So Galahad had been, as pure and bold.
Yet lacking in one vital, necessary need:
The need to prove, the deed to do,
A new found strength to face the ocean's dare.
But it was to be found within another's warm embrace
And with her brave and righteous smile.
She'd break these bonds and set me free.
My heart's destiny, still so far away from me.
